As soon as we leave the port of Milazzo, we will set sail towards the Island of Lipari, which is also the main town of the Aeolian Islands, with arrival and disembarkation at Marina Corta port.
Lipari is the largest island, the beating heart of the archipelago, and is situated in the center of the Aeolian Islands. It is characterized by picturesque sea stacks, two volcanic necks generated by ancient volcanic activity and shaped by the sea and the wind: "Petra Lunga" and "Petra Menalda."
From Marina Corta port, for those who wish to explore on foot, a visit to the castle, also known as the Acropolis, is a must. Inside the walls, you will find the Cathedral of the Patron Saint "San Bartolomeo," an archaeological area, an ancient monastery, and the archaeological museum "Luigi Bernabo Brea."
Walking along the main street "Vittorio Emanuele" or via "Garibaldi," immersed in a blend of alleys and shops, you can experience the true Aeolian atmosphere.
At approximately 1:30 PM, there will be a direct connection to reach the Island of Panarea.
Panarea is truly unique for its charm and beauty. From the port, you directly access the picturesque village of San Pietro, with typical white houses arranged next to each other, nestled in colorful nature. From here, among many meeting places, restaurants, shops, and boutiques scattered throughout the streets, you can reach the main points of interest (on foot or with typical local taxis): the Church of San Pietro - with its precious mosaic and the terrace offering a beautiful panorama, Drauto, Cala degli Zimmari - with its peculiar sandy beach. From here, a staircase path leads to the promontory of Capo Milazzese and the charming Bay of Cala Junco, an incomparable cove with breathtaking colors and crystal-clear waters, housing a small pebble beach. Above, as a frame, there is a prehistoric village dating back to the Bronze Age (1400 BC) with the remains of 22 oval-shaped stone huts and one quadrangular, perhaps a place of gathering and worship for the community.
At approximately 4:15 PM, there is a direct connection to reach the Island of Stromboli.
This sailing route crosses the ancient volcanic caldera of Panarea, providing a view of the remaining volcanic remains scattered between Lipari and Stromboli, islets, and rocks that have formed a mini-archipelago: Formiche, Dattilo, Panarelli, Lisca Nera, Bottaro, Lisca Bianca, Basiluzzo, and Punta Spinazzola.
Stromboli, "iddu," the black giant that emerges in all its grandeur from the intense blue sea.
For millennia, it has been one of the most active volcanoes in the world, with its "Strombolian eruptions" - explosions of lapilli, ash, and magma visible at regular intervals of 15/20 minutes - serving as a beacon for sailors.
From the port of San Vincenzo "Scari," immediately adjacent, long black pebble and sand beaches alternate. From here, a road crosses the village, ascending until reaching the Church of San Vincenzo with its panoramic square in front, from which Strombolicchio, also known as the "grandfather of Stromboli," can be seen. Strombolicchio is a part of the internal solidified lava of the oldest volcanic cone among all the Aeolian Islands, on top of which the Island's Lighthouse was built.
Continuing along the same road, you can reach the "Casa di Ingrid," now a museum, where the famous film "Stromboli Terra di Dio" by Roberto Rossellini with Ingrid Bergman was shot.
At dusk, while in all the other islands the evening is spent conventionally with an aperitif, dinner, or a visit to the disco, in Stromboli, you embark, and passing under the Sciara del Fuoco, you can witness from the sea the spectacle of incandescent lapilli. When effusive eruptions occur, as happened in 2014, the lava river flows down the slope and ends in the sea, producing large columns of steam.
The arrival in Milazzo is scheduled for approximately 10:30 PM.
