Difficulty level: Medium

Length: Approximately 1 km (elevation gain of 40 m)

Duration: Approximately 45 minutes

To reach the start of the trail, you need to follow the entire Via Manica until you reach an ancient "red house," from where a panoramic viewpoint allows a left turn that offers an enchanting view of the entire western coast. You can access it from the main road of Capo (via Addolorata or SP72) or from Tono, where parking is available, and you can take a staircase that reconnects with Via Manica. The trail connects the district of Manica with Monte Trino, and it is a moderately difficult route that takes about 45 minutes to complete. After about a hundred meters from the start of the main path, there is also the possibility to take a deviation that leads to the sea near Punta Tono.

The origin of the unique name of this trail is uncertain: it is said to be due to the contrast between the "paradisiacal" nature of the place and the "infernal" leap of thirty meters onto the underlying cliffs of Cala Prestalona. A significant part of the trail runs along dry stone walls popularly called "ammacìi." This ancient path remained abandoned for half a century before being restored in 2001 during one of Legambiente's international volunteer camps. It offers splendid scenic views, from the Castle to the Bay of Sant'Antonio.

You then arrive at the slopes of Monte Trino, where you encounter a fork: by continuing to the left (west), the trail descends until reaching the sea near Punta Grottazza (10 minutes of walking); by proceeding to the right (east), after a few hundred meters, the trail connects to a cross street of Via Trinità. This leads to the church of Monte Trino, from where you can enjoy a magnificent panorama. To return to the starting point of the trail (Via Manica), you can walk along the paved road (approximately 20 minutes of walking). Numerous prickly pear cacti found on the "ammacìi" were originally planted to separate properties. In several places, the effect of the strong west wind shapes the branches of olive trees, giving them the typical "flag" formation.
