La Manica di Milazzo: Breathtaking Panorama between Sea and Nature.
La Manica, a panoramic viewpoint in Milazzo, offers a spectacular view that encompasses the Bay of Tono, the Ponente beach, the fortified citadel, and even the fascinating Aeolian Islands. Accessible both from the center of Milazzo through the road leading to the Cape and from the Bay of Tono, this scenic route provides a complete view of the natural and architectural wonders surrounding the area.
To reach La Manica from the Bay of Tono, you need to climb a fairly steep staircase located at the end of the square, on the right side. This path, also known by the evocative name of "N'fennu e Paradisu" (Hell and Paradise), is one of the most characteristic routes of Capo Milazzo.
The excursion begins with a stop at the "Boschetto dell'Ancora" (Grove of the Anchor), a stretch of coastline that owes its development to the efforts of Legambiente and numerous volunteers. This area is characterized by typical coastal vegetation, offering an immersion in the natural beauty of the surrounding environment.
Ascending a staircase, you arrive at Via Manica, from which you can admire the entire city of Milazzo and the marvelous bay, also known as 'Ngonia del Tono, from above. From here, we will venture into the nature trail called "N'fennu e Paradisu," which winds along the imposing cliffs overlooking the sea until reaching the top of Monte Trino. From this privileged position, we can enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the entire Cape of Milazzo.
The trail, in addition to offering extraordinary scenic beauty, allows us to get up close with the numerous plants and animals that characterize the Mediterranean environment. Every step along the path brings us closer to untouched nature and reveals the richness of biodiversity in the area.
After a brief pause to admire the panorama, we will begin the return journey, carrying with us indelible memories of this extraordinary experience.
LEGEND:
Legend tells of a woman dressed in white, with flowing hair in the wind, silently walking along the edge of the cliffs. It is said that her figure is ethereal and radiates an aura of tranquility and serenity. Some claim that she may be the spirit of a young woman who jumped from the cliffs due to unrequited love or a personal tragedy.
Like many legends, the veracity of this story is subject to debate. However, it adds a touch of mystery and charm to this suggestive place, contributing to creating a magical atmosphere around the Manica di Milazzo.
